Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the distance measurement?

We calculate straight-line (as-the-crow-flies) distances using the Haversine formula, which accounts for the Earth's curvature. This is highly accurate for the actual distance between two points. Note that real walking or driving distances will be longer as you follow roads and paths.

Can I measure road distances?

This tool measures straight-line distances. For actual road distances and turn-by-turn navigation, we recommend using Google Maps or a sat-nav app after planning your points here.

How do I delete a point?

Right-click (or long-press on mobile) on any marker to delete it. You can also use the "Undo" button to remove the last point added, or click the ✕ button next to any point in the list.

What is GPX format?

GPX (GPS Exchange Format) is a standard format for GPS data. You can import GPX files into most GPS devices, fitness trackers, and mapping applications like Strava, Garmin Connect, and Komoot.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No. All calculations happen in your browser. Your route data is never sent to our servers. When you share a link, the route coordinates are encoded in the URL itself.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes! The tool is fully responsive and works on phones and tablets. Tap to add points, drag to move them, and long-press to delete.
